چکیده
Cold drawing is a commonly used metal forming technique carried out by pulling billet through die cavity to obtain desired dimensions. Ideally, the cross-sectional area of drawn product should be equal that at its exit; however, former one always larger after drawing, in practice. In this study, cold an AISI-316 stainless steel rod investigated finite element analysis. The difference between radius and denoted ∆R. A series simulations using combinations various parameters, including semi-die angle, bearing ratio, reduction speed friction coefficient, are conducted find dominant factors It found ∆R mainly affected ratio friction. An empirical formula for ∆R, established according simulation results verified experiments as well. Using formula, dimensions can predicted advance proper parameters chosen decrease improve quality.

The adhesion of hot-filament CVD diamond films on AISI type 316 austenitic stainless steel
Steel ball indentation and scratch adhesion testing of hot filament chemical vapour deposited diamond films onto AISI type 316 austenitic stainless steel substrates using two different interlayer systems, namely chromium nitride and borided steel, have been investigated. In order to compare the adhesion of these films with that of a well-known and strongly adherent system, detailed adhesion tes...
متن کاملPHASE TRANSFORMATION DURING WEAR OF AISI STAINLESS STEEL 316
Abstract: Austenitic stainless steels exhibit a low hardness and weak tribological properties. The wear behaviour of austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 was evaluated through the pin on disc tribological method. For investigating the effect of wear on the changes in microstructure and resistance to wear, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscope were used. The hardness of the worn...
متن کاملInvestigation of Diamond Deposition on AISI 316 & 430 Stainless Steel Substrares
In this paper, the nucleation and growth of diamond/diamond-like coatings on austenitic (AISI 316) and ferritic (AISI 430) stainless steel substrates have been investigated using torch technique. The effects of substrate surface preparation has also been studied. The quality of coatings produced has been examined using optical and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectros...
